Hazel Residence (“The Residence”) is fully aware of the need to comply with the EU’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) which came into force on 25 May 2018. The Residence has always sought to maintain the highest standards with regard to the handling/processing of personal data and can confirm that its systems and practices are now fully GDPR-compliant.
In order to perform its function as a residence/B&B/Guest House the Residence collects and retains a limited amount of personal data. This includes but is not necessarily limited to names, email, phone numbers and debit/credit card details.
The Residence keeps this information as secure as possible, typically in electronic format on a secure hotel management system. Details of the system’s GDPR compliance can be found here
Clients, partners and staff have the right to know what is stored about them on our systems. Please allow up to 28 days for such requests to be fulfilled.
The Residence considers that it has legitimate consent to contact guests, students, staff and others with whom it has an ongoing business or client relationship. The Residence does not send unsolicited marketing emails but may at times notify former guests of offers or invitations where a legitimate interest can be demonstrated.
If clients or partners no longer wish to be contacted or would like to have their details removed, they should inform the Residence in writing, preferably by emailing the Data Protection Officer whose details are given below. Please allow 28 days.
The Residence occasionally shares certain types of data - notably guest name, email address and phone number - with its sister company Purley Language College. This information is is kept electronically and deleted after use. Partners are required not to pass confidential information to third parties without the express consent of the Residence.
